Sure, she visited Palm Springs, who wouldn't, especially after winning an Academy Award. Could she have been the subject of "Mommie Dearest?"
In her movies she also:
1. said, "there's a name for you ladies, not used in high society, outside of the kennel."
2. regretted slapping her daughter and thought it might be better to chop off her hand instead.
3. served Baby Jane Hudson a cooked rat after telling her that there were rats in the cellar.
4. worked at a jewelry counter in a big department store.
5. had a husband who gambled all of her money away.

And she also tried to take the murder rap for her daughter! LOL.
