Vacant Downtown Palm Springs Library

In 1938 Palm Springs city leaders wanted landowner George Welwood Murray to donate his land at Tahquitz and Palm Canyon to the city so that a new library could be built at the site. In order for Murray to donate the land he had asked that the city would run the library and that it be a memorial to his father.

Today the library is closed for renovation, and , like the vacant Weisman property caddy-corner to it, one never knows if it really will open again.
